Gail's Story
“Elders hold valuable keys that are often overlooked, with wisdom by far being their best kept secret! Profound, but simple, it's the most significant lesson my mom imparted to me which I'll cherish forever." By Gail E. Amsterdam
Gail and her Mom, Elizabeth
Family played a foundational role in Gail's life from an early age. Much younger than her parent's and relatives, Gail completely attended to their personal and business affairs as they aged. A natural caregiver, Gail spent significant time with seniors and repeatedly noticed their moods significantly became elated each time she visited them. Keeping this top of mind for decades, Gail realized she was onto something major.

With boomers being tomorrow's Eldercare seniors, Gail realized there was a market opportunity to offer exceptional amenities for their imminent business and personal needs. The key being to support them to be as independent as possible and in a highly personalized manner. Countless boomer friends conveyed to her what an elder services company should provide to the market. Gail took their suggestions to heart and conceived of Eldercare Concierge NYC. Developing a suite of personalized Concierge Services for boomers and seniors needs, Gail added special project resource capabilities too.
With the onslaught of technology, which seemingly connects people more, it's actually an enigma, that people may be less connected, especially seniors. Heavily reliant on technology including cell phones, computers, and social media, often has resulted in people experiencing detachment, loneliness, and depression. Instead of making connections, people actually feel more separated, which can be daunting. Eldercare takes this very seriously.
Besides providing top-notch services to our senior clients, one of our main pillars is to make sure they are connected to others. e.g. by deepening the precious bonds between young people and seniors, both generations experience more satisfying relationships together. Gail strongly believes there is a therapeutic benefit when attachment is enriched. Eldercare is committed to cultivating and deepening these personal alliances.
